From One Tree to Many: a Forest and a Value

From one to million trees in a forest As just one tree can greatly contribute to both humans and wildife, a rich forest thus even offers immeasurable values to people. Most importantly, in the wake of global warming, a hot issue for mankind, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere of the forest trees means prolonging breath is a task that is inestimably useful for other living creatures.
     - A source of clean air.
     - Lessen the force of wind and water.
     - Maintain a balance of carbon cycle.
     - Provide four requisites for humans.
     - A natural water reservoir.
     - Serve as a tourist and recreational destination.
     - Keep balance of temperature and ensure rainfall according to season.
     - A source of biodiversity of plants and wildlife.
     - Wild products give income to people.
     - A natural lab and classroom and a source of learning.
     - A source of some herbal medicines that people cannot plant.

Tree, Forest and Carbon
Amidst increasingly warmer climate, a natural crisis affecting lives of human in many areas, reduction carbon dioxide, which is one of the greenhouse gases, is one of the solutions. Several measures include production technology development, a study of entire life cycle of the product and reduction of use of fossil fuel, etc.  Some studies show that the best method of reducing carbon dioxide is to store it in the trees.
A way to keep carbon dioxide with the trees themselves is through photosynthesis.  The trees "breanthe in" carbon dioxide and release oxygen.  The carbon dioxide will be stored in the mass of the trees which is called biomass. Planting one tree will absorb 1.81 tons of carbon dioxide and release 1.32 tons of oxygen.  Thus the forest and plants is the world's largest accumulator or storage of carbon dioxide as they absorb one quarter of it.
Therefore, deforestation means harm to greenhouse gas destroyer and burning the forest is to send out vicious carbon dioxide that has been stored to hurt ourselves.

One Tree That Gives Air, Food and Life

Nature is a way of giving and taking.  Namely, on one side, trees are a receiver as it gets manures of with nutrients. The trees rely on animals, insects and wind for propagation. On the other side, they are a great giver. People gain direct benefit from wood, leaves, flowers and fruits and others as their food, accommodation, medicine and cloth which are requisites necessary in lives. Furthermore, they also render indirect benefit as world medicine that saves our lives. Namely, they reduce heat, filter dust and pollution. Not to mention, under the trees, their pleasant shades in some way improve our mood and mine.
     - Reduce salt spray in some areas
     - A home for animals
     - Release oxygen
     - Reduce noise
     - Reduce wind  speed
     - Slow down water flow
     - Enhance an ecological system
     - Provide cooling shade
     - Filter dust and pollutants from the air
     - Absorb carbon dioxide
     - Prevent topsoil from washing away
     - Reduce heat and reduce energy consumption
     - Leaf, flower, fruit, twig, branch, root and bark are a source of food and medicine for people and animal.

One Tree in Our Hands

One Tree in Our Hands

Everything in nature is interdependent in equiliburium state. All existence with which we are familiar in lives is creatively produced by nature such as natural phenomena on earth, seasons, rising and ebb tides or even nights and days. If we consider this subtlety, we can instantly realize that what is disguised in simplicity is truly a miracle power.
When we count the age of the world and nature, we can fine that mankind incomparably evolved far behind them. But our technological development to improve life quality tremendously affects the balance of the nature. Undeniably, it wit certainly backfire on us. For instance, due to an aimless development, the trees-have been destroyed to pave the way for agricultural land and road despite the fact that they contribute to a balance of air and water that is essential to human live.

Perhaps, it is not yet too late for us to change our future by looking after the nature, using the resources wisely with value recognition and building good conscience to nurture the balance of natural power for the continuity of human race and every life.

Though "The Giving Tree" Book written by shel Silverstein, seems to be a children book, its story about trees giving to humans since they are young until the last breath tremendously impressed many adults.  It reminds them the solid fact that is hard to deny that people have ability to take benefit from every part of the tree i.e. from treetop down to roots.  A provoking question posed for us is how do we repay the trees?
Because we can see that presently humans have chosen to cut down trees to pave the way for development.  There are times that we regard economic growth as a priorty and decide to clear the forest to grow economic plants.  But when we tend to focus on making profit for our balance of statement, we forget that there is also a balance of nature that we should carefully try to achieve and trees are a basic nature that we should try to look after at our best.
